Deforestation generates 15 to 20 percent of carbon emissions. It is the 3rd vital source of greenhouse gases. 

The rise in greenhouse gases has altered the Earth’s climate patterns. We now experience tragic weather events such as heatwaves, wildfires, floods, drought, and hurricanes.

Forests are home to 80% of the world’s terrestrial biodiversity. They provide food, shelter, & water to millions of animals. We need trees to breathe also.. so its a no brainer? However most people don’t even realize how bad deforestation currently is. Here are so alarming facts so you can kind of get an idea: 

    • Some 80% of tropical rainforests are destroyed due to agriculture.
    • By 2030, there may be only 10% of the rainforests left.

    • Throughout the world, about 900 million trees are cut down annually. This equates to about 2.47 million trees cut down every day. 

    • Every second, a forest the size of a football field is lost, according to the deforestation statistics for 2021.
